There are two options when flying to Los Cristianos. Tenerife boasts of two airports. One is on the North and one in the South. There are flights to Los Cristianos from all over Europe.
Flights to Los Crisrtianos arrive at two airports. They are both well linked with Los Cristianos and you can get there by car or bus from either airport.
The airports are 80km from each other, when travelling to Los Cristianos, the airport in the South is a slightly better option as it is just 15 minutes away. Flights from all over Europe land in the southern airport, even if not many from Spain itself. Many different airlines use this airport. The low cost airlines like Ryanair, Easyjet and Airberlin use it a lot. Most of the flights into the southern airport are from Britain, Germany and France, some flights from Spain do land here, but most of the ones flying from the Spanish mainland land in the airport in the North.
The Northern airport is the one to use if flying to the Spanish mainland or to another one of the Canary Islands. The airlines that fly here tend to be Iberia, Vueling and Binter. The Los Rodeos airport doesn?t receive as many flights as the Reina Sofia airport, therefore it closes at night. The opening hours for Los Rodeos Airport are from 6 am to 11 pm.
Both airports are very small, they only have one terminal each, when you land and disembark from your plane you will never have to wait long to collect your luggage. Both airports have bus tops and the possibility to get a taxi. In the northern airport, if you want to get a taxi, once outside the arrivals door, turn right and at the end of the passageway before leaving the building there is always someone who can call one. In the southern airport, once leaving the arrivals lounge, turn to your right, and once outside the building, right in front of you, you will see the taxi rank.
To catch a bus when landing in the northern airport, follow the same directions as to get a taxi but instead of calling a taxi, go outside and right in front, you will see a bus stop. The same stop is used for travelling in both directions. From the southern airport to catch a bus when you leave the arrivals lounge carry on straight ahead until you come out of the building and right in front of you is the bus stop.
